Community Brings Writing and Fashion
Greetings, Demon Busters! Welcome to the second installment of Demon Diary, the all-new social hub ATLUS ONLINE’s Shin Megami Tensei free MMORPG.
We’ve experienced so much excitement, roller-coasting, and overtime with the re-launch of ATLUS ONLINE’s Shin Megami Tensei Imagine servers, it’s got us chain chugging Starbucks and glasses of water! Fortunately, we’re not the only minds pouring creative juices into this momentous occasion.
Over in the ATLUS ONLINE forums, one of our awesome fans, MainCharacter, put in a suggestion for a new Creative Writing section. We’re not sure how this didn’t hit us like a crashing Astaroth, given we drafted up a Short Story Contest… But it’s there now, and we love the awesome suggestion!
We’ve also got some other exciting forum/event news. Nitchzombie put together a Fashion Event for SMTI! Like the Short Story Contest, entries must be submitted by May 31st, so get your screenshots clicking. Visit the forums post for official rules.
You could win a 90-day Item Depository—and even hotter—a “Miss Well Dressed” and “Mr. Well Dressed” badge for your profile! We’re hoping our contests can keep up with these sweet prizes in the future.
Speaking of prizes, we’re so appreciative of the suggestions we’ve received from the community—and awesome members putting together events like this—it’s making us skip through the office halls. Don’t feel shy; please keep the suggestions rolling in! The community involvement fires us up when the coffee runs out.
On that note, you tell us. We’d love to hear your thoughts.
- We asked this on the forums, but we want to give blog readers a chance to answer, too: What kind of prizes do you look forward to from MegaTen contests?
- If you could design an event, what would it be?
- Your turn to write! Name this demon, then whip up some dialogue for him:

Event prizes should be temporary cash items for two reasons.
1. Allows players without cash to enjoy cash items.
2. Allow players with cash to test and see it’s worth buying it.
Special events like 1 year anniversary should have limited unique items, they don’t need to be strong, but they have to look different so when people see it they know. “He is one of the few who won that event….”

X3 This blog continues to be adorable.
1. Participation prizes that are especially lovely are always things like rental ariadne threads, repair kits/tools, comp expansion cards, runestone tickets, link chocolates and cookies, and depo rental tickets. They’re always useful and give players something to miss when they’re gone. Specific winners should get things like data tickets (can be old or new. in fact, older tickets can be in more demand sometimes). Party-wide incs (XP/Mastery/Magic Essence/Muscle Drink) are also nice prizes.
2. I love events that give me an excuse to run dungeons I don’t usually run or challenge myself in other ways (like speed run competitions or leveling events). There’s a lot of little neat things most players don’t normally run into that players can learn about through events. … And I cannot stress my love for spawn events enough (GMs pick a remote-ish location and spawn a mass of different demons for us to play with).
3. And that’s Jerry. He says things like ‘I may be small, but underestimate my stinger!’ …. Yeah, I don’t know, I’m terrible at this, haha.

Thank you for the feedback, Keikain! The Pandora team actually ran a Bokrug spawn event recently. We’ll definitely look into this for SMTI, too!

Hee-ho, the blog is superlicious so far.
I think participation prizes such as comp expansions, ariadanes and such are very important as they give players a reason to take part. I personally peek at participation prizes first before i decide if im bothering or not, and im sure a few others do the same hee-ho.
Also we need more events/events that ask more. Unfortunately the fashion event is a bit of a let down as taking one screen shot is not much effort for such a small prize, especially for the people who dont bother with item depos hee-ho. In future it would be superlicious if u buddy-budds at atlus gave us events that require us to do more or gave us events more often hee-ho.
Finally that demon is a buddy-budd of mine, his name is Bob the accident prone zhen and he often says “Oh noooooooooooes, I stung myself with my stingy, taily, thingy.”
